Statement of Faith

God – God is the Creator of all things and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are equal and are “one”, operating in their specific roles. God reconciled humanity to himself through his son Jesus Christ. Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, I Peter 1:2, II Corinthians 13:14

Jesus – Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is equal with God the Father. Jesus Christ became a man and was the perfect sacrifice to pay for humanity’s sin. Jesus was born from the virgin Mary, from the nature of God holy and righteous, and without sin. Jesus suffered death on a cross, rose from the grave, and is now seated at the right hand of God in heaven. He will return for His church and will judge and rule for eternity as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5 & 14:10- 30, Hebrews 4:14-15, I Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, I Timothy 6:14-15, Titus 2:13

Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and God the Son. The Holy Spirit is present in the world and present in the children of God. The Holy Spirit gives us power to obey God’s laws and abstain from sin. The Holy Spirit helps us to understand spiritual truths, guides us toward what is right in God’s eyes, gives us our spiritual gifts to serve the Lord and one another, and seals us with His mark to be with us for eternity. II Corinthians 3:17, John 16:7-13 & 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, I Corinthians 2:12 & 3:16, Ephesians 1:13, Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 5:18

Humanity – Humanity is created in the image of God, to be like Him in nature. Humanity is the supreme object of God’s creation but has rebelled against God by breaking His holy law, thus, humanity must pay the price for their sins. Consequently, humanity is now spiritually (relationally) lost and separated from God and our only hope for being reconciled to God is through God’s son Jesus Christ. Humanity must receive and believe in Jesus Christ to be spiritually reborn by repenting of their sins and receiving the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:27-26, Colossians 1:16, John 14:6, John 3:16, Colossians 1:21-23, 2 Corinthians 5:17

Kingdom of Heaven – The Kingdom of Heaven is the eternal home for God’s people, where Jesus Christ sits enthroned at the right hand of God, the Father. It is the place where Jesus Christ has gone to prepare many room’s for believers to dwell for eternity. Matthew 18:3, John 14:2, Romans 8:34, Colossians 3:1

Lake of Fire – The Lake of Fire, or hell, is the eternal home for all those who do not profess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Death, Hades, the false prophet, and Satan will be cast into the Lake of Fire to spend eternity separated from the presence of God. Revelation 20:14, Revelation 20:15

Salvation – Salvation is a gift from God to save humanity from their sins. Humanity can never make up for sin by self-improvement or good works, but only by confessing Jesus is Lord and believing that God raised Him from the dead. Romans 10:5-12, I Peter 1:9, Romans 9:30-32

Eternal Security – God gives humanity eternal life through Jesus Christ, and, because of that, the believer is secured in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God. It is the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit that gives his children eternal security. I Peter 1:9, Philippians 2:12

The Bible – The Bible is God’s Word to all men. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. It is inspired by God, without any mixture or error. II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20-21, II Timothy 1:13, Psalm 119:105,160 & 12:6, Proverbs 30:5

The Local Church – The Local Church is the body of believers who follow the teachings and commands of Jesus Christ, that meet in a public setting to worship God, edify the saints, and spread the gospel message. It is a functional gathering that has planned meetings (Acts 20:7), corporate discipline (1 Corinthians 5), money raising projects to support God’s people and God’s purposes (2 Corinthians 8-9), recognized leaders such as pastors, elders and deacons (Hebrews 13:7-17), and ordinances/practices such as water baptism and the Lord’s Supper (communion). I Corinthians 11:17-26, Acts 2:42-47

Baptism - In the example that Jesus set, Baptism is a public profession of faith that believers have confessed Jesus Christ as Lord, repented from sin, and are committed to living a holy, Christ filled life by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 3:13-17, Acts 2:36-38
